On 15 November 2025, MI Finance carried out a successful Beach Clean-Up Programme at Crow Island Beach, Mattakkuliya, in partnership with Clean Ocean Force Lanka (COF) and the Sri Lanka Police. The initiative brought together staff volunteers and partner organizations in a collective effort to protect one of Colombo's most polluted coastal areas.
This beach cleanup formed an important part of MI Finance’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and the principles embedded within our ESG framework. Aligned with key UN SDGs including SDG 14: Life Below Water, SDG 15: Life on Land, and SDG 13: Climate Action the initiative reinforced our dedication to protecting natural ecosystems and reducing environmental impact.
As more than 100 staff members from multiple branches and departments joined hands with representatives from COF and the Sri Lanka Police to remove accumulated litter, plastic waste, and other environmentally harmful debris from the shoreline, the programme helped restore the natural integrity of the coastal environment.
MI Finance emphasized that collaborations of this nature play a key role in creating long-term environmental impact. Working alongside the Clean Ocean Force Lanka and the Sri Lanka Police helped strengthen the initiative, enabling the teams to collectively contribute to a cleaner and healthier coastal environment.
MI Finance extends its sincere appreciation to all volunteers, Clean Ocean Force Lanka (COF), and the Sri Lanka Police for making the event a success. The company remains committed to driving impactful environmental and community initiatives in the future.
