As part of our continued commitment to community development, and in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education, our organization recently undertook a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to support students in need.
On 24th March 2026, we extended our support to Katunayake Maha Vidyalaya in Katunayake, a school that serves children from underprivileged families who face challenges in accessing essential educational resources. This initiative benefited 35 students from Grades 5 and 6.
To support their educational journey, we provided essential stationery items, school bags, and other learning materials, along with food packs to assist their families. This effort was aimed at creating a more inclusive and encouraging learning environment for the students.
The program was organized by Mr. S. Varathan, Branch Manager – Ja-Ela, under the leadership of Mr. Nandana Pradeep, Senior Regional Manager. It was successfully carried out with the support of the dedicated teams from the Ja-Ela and Negombo branches, under the guidance of the Sustainable Governance Committee chaired by our Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Laksanda Gunawardena, together with its members.
Through initiatives such as this, we continue to strengthen our commitment to empowering communities and supporting education for a better future.
